Okay, the history of the Dallas 1759 society. I guess I could tell you about Arthur Guinness and St. James Gate and all that, but I'm not going to. I could tell you about the Guinness 1759 Society, but I'm not going to do that either. I'm going to tell you about the Dallas Chapter of the Guinness 1759 Society.
It started a long time ago in a Pub not too far away. The place was known as the Tipperary Inn. We decided to meet there using the now non-existing forum the society supplied us. We all had to pay to join this 1759 society! They gave us a cool Guinness keyring and shirt though.... Anyway there was just four of us that first meeting. We grew, met at different pubs and had a great ol' time.
A few years later it all fell apart. I'm sure it was because I moved to Ireland, but it could have been because the forums got closed down and communication was tough. Whatever the reason the 1759 society lay dormant until now. There are alot of good pubs in the Dallas area that serve great pints. I suggest we find them all and test it out. So, if you like Guinness and drinking in general, lets get this society back in action. |
